Easy spring math ideas

There are so many things you can do with a spring theme! Using a little bit of scrapbook paper, some ric rac and colored bow tie pasta, here's what I came up with: Patterning with Kite colors.
Patterning with colored bow tie pasta. This is the first time I have attempted to color pasta. I used the same method that I used to color my rainbow rice here. I dabble in cake decorating so I have some gel colors - I found that the gel stayed a little sticky so next time I will use the regular liquid kind!
Ordering the kite by the length of it's tail.

Measuring how many bow ties tall each tail is.

Have fun coming up with some other spring math ideas - feel free to leave a link to some of your own in the comment box.

The flower patterning would be cute with rays on a sun, too.

I just have to say that I had a "DUH" moment with the kites and pasta. I've never thought of that and I've had the colored bow-tie pasta for a long time! I got so attached to the "butterfly" shape that I never thought of kites!
