Cookie Pop Bears

Beary tasty!

I always try to incorporate some kind of cooking in our preschool week for a few reasons:

1/. It has so many mathematical elements

2/. It is such a HUGE part of my job (cooking for 15 every day takes A LOT of time!)

3/. It's fun


This week since we are doing the letter B again, Channing helped me make these cute little Bear cookie pops.





We served them after dinner to all the bug boys. They all said thanks to Channing and he said "You're beary welcome" (we practiced that part before dinner).

How to blow bubbles with paint

Fun, fun, fun!

Last week we made bubble prints. Channing LOVED this art activity so much that we ended up doing it many times.

Here's what it looks like.

Here's how you can do it:

You need:

A paint cup or something similar

Paint (tempera)

Dish detergent

Water

Straw

Paper

How to do it:

1/ Pour a blob of paint into the paint container.

2/ Add a little dish soap

3/Add a LITTLE bit of water.

4/ blow bubbles into the paint.

5/ Catch the bubbles on the paper.

Just make sure the kids don't suck up the paint instead of blow it! Have fun :-)

pepperoni lasagne roll ups

3 Lasagna Noodles

3/4 C ricotta cheese

1/2 Tsp Minced chives

1/2 Tsp each of oregano and basil

24 slices of pepperoni

3 slices of Swiss cheese cute in thirds

1 C meatless spaghetti sauce

1/4 C Parmesan Cheese



1/ Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain.

2/ In a small bowl,combine Ricotta, chives, oregano and basil.

3/Spread 1/4 C of the ricotta mixture over each noodle. Top with pepperoni and Swiss cheese.

4/ Carefully roll up.

5/Place seam side down in a greased baking dish and cover with the spaghetti sauce.

6/ Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

7/uncover, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake 5 minutes longer or until cheese has melted.

Serves 3



I made this recipe for 15 and the boys thought it was very tasty. They constantly ask for me to make it again. See what you think.

On the go car mat.

During the Summer, we travelled up to Maine. That's about a 16 hour hike for us so I wanted to have tons of things for Channingto do in the car on the way. One of the things I decided to make for him was a car mat. I saw a great idea and tutorial here and decided to give it a whirl!



Here's how mine turned out:

The Cars fit neatly down the side (see picture 1) and then the whole thing can be rolled up and tied.

These make great gifts! If I can do it, anyone can!
